Nuff said.

After stumbling into discussions about this with people once in a while for probably the last decade or so, I noticed that "Nuff said" really isn't enough. To the contrary, a book may need to be written about it. For some reason, a lot of people seem to think that talking about the meaning of life is pointless, or even stupid, or that there is no answer. I don't understand why. To me, it's an important question with an obvious answer.

Strangely enough the magic number for .class files was chosen
long before the name Java was ever uttered in reference to
this language. We were looking for something fun, unique and
easy to remember. 0xcafebabe was better than the second runner-up,
0xdeadbabe. :-)
It is only a coincidence that the oblique reference to the
cute barristas at Peet's Coffee was foreshadowing for the name
Java.

Subject: How do I set a DEFAULT HTML-DOCUMENT?
Where do I (or my administrator ?) set a default html-document, witch is
accessed if no complete pathname to a document is given (only the
directory's pathname).
I know I read something about this somewhere, but can't find it anywhere
anymore.

Take a look in conf/srm.conf, in the first few lines you should see:
# DirectoryIndex: Name of the file to use as a pre-written HTML
# directory index
DirectoryIndex index.html
This is for the NCSA httpd, tho.
